Welcome to The Old White Hart Bed & Breakfast

The White Hart B&BWith Spectacular views towards Frome, Longleat and Bradley Knoll, our comfortable family home is on the edge of the picturesque village of Maiden Bradley and our third generation family farm.

Situated within easy reach of many renowned beauty spots including Longleat and Stourhead in excellent walking country, we are also within easy reach of Bath, Bristol, Salisbury and Wells and of wealth of other equally delightful small West Country towns.

Maiden Bradley is a picturesque village with a Norman Church and is the historic seat of the Duchy of Somerset. Jane Seymour reputedly lived in the village as did Jethro Tull (no, not the old rockers, but the inventor of the modern seed drill.) Traditionally a farming community, horses and cattle were paraded for sale in front of The Rank during the Spring and Autumn Fair Markets until at least the mid 1800's, the village still retains its strong agrarian connections. The White Hart B&B

The Old White Hart is over three hundred years old and is one of the several Maiden Bradley Inns mentioned as early as 1709 positioned on the crossroads of two important coaching routes, London to Barnstable and Bath to Poole. The Old White Hart is the fifth most popular name for a British Inn coming from the many ancient myths and legends associated with its sighting in the wild - hence it's association with good luck, especially for travellers.

Maiden Bradley is in the heart of an incredibly beautiful area, full of wonderful places to explore whatever your interests, delightful towns and villages, wholesome Pubs (we can recommend many), stunning geographical features and breathtaking views and walks.

Our family has been farming in the village and its surroundings for nearly one hundred years. The Old White Hart is on the edge of our busy farm where we raise beef in a suckling herd and grow cereals.
